The once popular online cartoonizer allowed people to turn themselves into a system character by selecting different options to design their own unique avatar.

A virtual cartoon universe is coming together and mainstream media are learning a few new tricks.

Have you noticed recently many insurance and banking commercials are featuring animated characters? The “cartoon yourself” movement is reaching new levels as corporations are joining in the act.

Cartoons don’t have to sign contracts, show up for work on time, or require insurance. Sure there are design costs, but the cost saving advantages of using animated characters is a much larger sum.
